Born in Bury, Lancashire, Kathryn has been living and working as an artist and creative designer in West Wales for the last 26 years. She was fortunate in running her own gallery in Aberystwyth for seven years until her various health issues became too much.
Although possessing a natural artistic flair Kathryn was never encouraged to develop this gift by either her parents or her first husband, whose only interest was in exerting control over her life through mental and psychological abuse. Towards the end of their relationship this was gravitating towards a more aggressive stage.
Kathryn’s second husband recognised her talent and together they created a successful business spanning 30years promoting and selling her artwork. Despite the closure of the gallery and her continuing health problems Kathryn has continued to create art and a range of craft goods when she is able to. These are now sold through a small number of selected retail outlets.
Despite having suffered many unfortunate situations throughout her life including sexual abuse as a child and the loss of her first two children as a result of taking prescribed Primodos tablets during pregnancy, Kathryn has always tried to remain as positive as possible and in many ways her creativity has been her saviour.
