Handmade and factory free, handcrafted by me. My name is Kayley, I’ve been designing and sewing clothes since I was in secondary school. Constructed from my home in Wales.
I began as self taught and then went onto study fashion design at uni.
As a survivor of domestic abuse who has had significant anxiety following the abuse, I was so excited when I saw the SooN shop.
The use of the images of the Bodhisattvas in my work was initially inspired by empowering myself and my self image with the images of goddesses, there is a Buddhist practice where you see yourself as the deity which I personally think is a beautiful way to express self love, self love is very much needed thing when dealing with mental health problems, learning to treat yourself as you would a friend, it became something I practiced to empower myself which was what inspired my goddess corsets and jackets.
The T-shirts and Hoodies under the label ‘Carneys’ are made in loving memory of my beautiful big brother Ben who has recently passed away, I will be donating 10% of each sale to the dogs trust in honour of his love of dogs. The artwork was created by Jak MCS.
