Hi, I'm Lucy and I live and work locally to Machynlleth.
I discovered my love for macrame during the first lockdown in 2020, and since then it's the one thing that has kept me relatively sane!
As a late diagnosed ADHD woman, I've spent my whole life not really finding that "thing" that I'm good at or that I've stuck to. During lockdown I suffered total burnout due to the ADHD and a lifetime of masking and it finally caught up with me, but finding macrame helped me through that. I could escape my mind for hours creating things from string. I found my happy place!
Creating my macrame pieces helps calm my mind and I use it as active mindfulness, as there's no way I can meditate because of my constant racing thoughts.
I like making wearable macrame, that has a purpose and use. And my bags are what I love making most.
I use recycled cotton and natural products as much as I can, also finding and repurposing where I can. And I try and use other local or UK businesses for my supplies.
