Something Out Of Nothing
was born in 2014 when Nikki started painting, unconsciously in an attempt to help her escape life's traumas whilst stuck in an abusive relationship. Nikki finally left her 12 year relationship in 2015. It is a well known fact that when a recruit of domestic abuse leaves the "abuse cycle" life gets worse and it did. In an attempt to get away Nikki and her son took up wild camping, they explored Scotland as an escape from all the chaos at "home" and decided to move there, however one last wild camp in Wales turned Nikki & her son's life around forever when she asked a stranger for directions,
the stranger was Hugh!

With the support of Hugh, new and old friends, therapy and the power of creativity Nikki now calls herself a survivor! It has been a difficult journey which took self reflection, research, years of therapy to gain the understanding of the abuse cycle Nikki was stuck in.
Once equipped with knowledge Nikki decided to put pen, pastels and paint to paper, launched Anti~Fashion, experimented with jewellery and photography and dabbled with interior design, after years of no creativity. Still a work in progress Nikki continues to explore her creative gifts and arm herself with information so she can support others in helping navigate ways out of the 'trauma cycle'.

In 2017 Nikki put a post on Facebook explaining her journey to her FB friends. She was so surprised at the heartfelt response from that post, many people, men & women, contacted Nikki because they identified abuse in their lives, Nikki realised silent domestic abuse is a epicdemic that affects too many people.

a safe, anonymous place of research, to vent, share spoken word and trauma art.
