Hugh's Coat
Hugh's morning suit was an ex display outfit, purchased by Nikki online. She decided to embellish the coat with Sanskrit verses taken from the Guru Gita. Nikki photocopied and enlarged the writings and using a tacking stitch, made an outline of the script. Nikki then enhanced each character by sewing chain to form the individual letters. To complete the look Nikki cut chain to size to form a tassel heart. On the right cuff of the coat Nikki embroidered Sanskrit with silver and grey embroidery thread.

Nikki's Dress
Nikki purchased a 2nd hand wedding dress to use as a template for her own gown. She deconstructed the old dress and up-cycled the corset area by cutting out flowers from a piece of embroidered tulle and sewing on thousands of beads to create a 'shimmering look' .
Using the template of the original wedding dress, Nikki cut her pink lining as a base to create her own style. Nikki took a zero waste approach to her skirt. She purchased 5 meters of end of roll fabric and tulle to fashion the skirt on a tailor's dummy using a variety of fabric manipulation methods to create the final look Nikki used an interior design flower she had and plenty of glass beads, that reflected those on the corset, so parts of the skirt would glitter in the light.
